ABOUT
Larry Yung is an American contemporary fine artist. He began his fine art career with a multi-dimensional art form called Stak, which consists of sculptured and layered paper boards on contoured foam core. Stak was featured in many of his earlier series, including Chinois Pop and Anime.
Yung's work is influenced by a broad range of classical period artists, Manga, and American contemporary fine artists such as Rosenquist, Julian Schnabel, and Jeff Koons.
The inspiration for Yung's works comes from his Chinese American heritage, surroundings, political events, and popular culture. His works mostly center around a particular theme, but the individual pieces within a series are not restricted to one specific style or medium. This non-restrictive nature provides fluidity in his creative process, allowing freedom for exploration and progression.
In addition to his fine arts work, Yung is an award-winning interior designer. His projects have been featured on the covers of magazines such as British Elle Decor, Metropolitan Homes Magazine, Gentry Magazine, and Diablo Magazine.
Yung's works have been exhibited in London, Sweden, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
His work has been previewed at Sotheby's in Hong Kong for an auction for Asia Art Archive.
His participation in Art Fairs includes Seattle Art Fair, LA Art, Asian Contemporary Art Fair New York, Shanghai Art Fair, and Art 13 London.
Selected public exhibitions of Yung's works include Alternative Museum in New York, Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, BAC in Berkeley, and Crocker Museum in Sacramento, California.
Selected corporate collections include Microsoft, Marvel Comics, Esquire Magazine, and Nordstrom.
